An additional five ballot boxes arrived Wednesday afternoon at the House of Representatives, containing Certificates of Canvass (COCs) and Election Returns (ERs), just in time for the final day of canvassing by the House and Senate Joint Canvassing Committee. The joint committee, sitting as the National Board of Canvassers and co-chaired by House Majority Leader Ferdinand Martin Romualdez and Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri, tabulated the COCs for the presidential and vice presidentual candidates in the May 9, 2022 general elections The COCs and ERs transported from the Senate were from the overseas voting. The canvassing began yesterday morning and ended this afternoon. The last batch of COCs and ERs were from the countries of Iran, Myanmar, Morocco, Bangladesh and Brazil. The ballot boxes contained the sequence numbers 167, 168, 169, 170 and 171. The ballot boxes, along with their ERs and COCs, were all examined and included in the just completed canvassing of votes. The ballot boxes were received by House Sergeant-at-Arms (SAA) BGen Rodelio Jocson and the House Legislative Security Bureau (LSB) personnel.
