Former President and now House Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on Tuesday officiated the oathtaking of Bienvenido "Benny" Abante as the elected Representative of the Sixth District of Manila. While she is not inclined to give any unsolicited advice to Members of the 18th Congress, Speaker Arroyo said she was certain that Abante will do what is best for the country as lawmaker. Abante vowed to do well his legislative duties and responsibilities and fight for the rights of the people. Witnessing his oathtaking were his wife Maria Paz, daughter and Manila Councilor Priscilla Abante Barquia, political supporters as well as members of the Metropolitan Bible Baptist Ikklesia./ Caption by Rowena B.
