Members and employees of the House of Representatives as well as notable public figures united on Thursday to help families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic through an online auction. The “CongBid i-Mine Mo Na ‘To,” an online auction of pre-loved items donated by House Members and employees, aimed to raise funds for the bereaved families of House employees lost due to COVID-19. A total of P69,650 was raised through the sale of designer apparel and accessories, high-end collectibles, furniture, household appliances, and art. These included a pair of shoes donated by Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, which sold for P10,000. Among the Representatives who donated to the cause were Deputy Speakers Rose Marie “Baby” Arenas, Evelina Escudero, Ferdinand Hernandez, Loren Legarda, and Roberto Puno. The “CongBid i-Mine Mo Na ‘To” online auction is one of the many events held this October to celebrate House of Representatives Month 2020. It was hosted by the Congressional Policy and Budget Research Department, under the leadership of Deputy Secretary General Dr. Romulo Emmanuel Miral Jr.
