The House Committee on Sustainable Development Goals led by Rep. Anna Marie Villaraza-Suarez (ALONA, Partylist) on Wednesday, held its first online meeting to affirm that the country can still achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations while contending with the COVID-19 pandemic. These 17 SDGs are the policy frameworks used to address the global challenges and help nations crop up with solutions to eradicate poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, and peace and justice. National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Undersecretary Rosemarie G. Edillon informed the committee, that it is important to focus on the health and well-being of the people, since it is the integral part in achieving other development goals towards a sustainable future for our country. 30
