The House Committee on Poverty Alleviation chaired by Rep. Dale Malapitan (1st District, Caloocan City) approved on Tuesday the draft consolidated bill on House Bill No. (HB) 4793 filed by Rep. Lianda Bolilia, HB 4907 by Rep. John Marvin Nieto, and HB 6100 by Malapitan, declaring October 31 of every year as the “National Savings and Financial Literacy Day” and proclaiming the same as special working day. The bill calls for the creation of an Inter-Agency Committee on National Savings and Financial Literacy Day to plan, coordinate, and implement activities for the occasion. The panel also created a technical working group (TWG) to review further HB 1652 by Rep. Manuel Cabochan III (Party-list, MAGDALO), seeking to create the National Livelihood Development Council.
