Representatives Sharon Garin (Party-list AAMBIS OWA), Irene Gay Saulog (Party-list, KALINGA) and France Castro (Party-list, Gabriela), members of the Committee on Women and Gender Equality, and House Secretary General Atty. Jose Luis Montales led the ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday to open the week-long interactive exhibit dubbed "In Her Shoes." The exhibit highlights problems encountered in cases of child early forced marriage (CEFM) and adolescent pregnancy, and advocates the passage of appropriate legislation to support and protect the country’s girls and young women. Garin thanked the Committee on Women and Gender Equality chaired by Rep. Ma. Lourdes Acosta-Alba (1st District, Bukidnon), the Philippine Legislators Committee on Population and Development (PLCPD) of which she is Vice Chairperson for Visayas, the House Gender and Development Focal Point System, Association of Women Legislators Foundation, Inc., Philippine Commission on Women, Oxfam and Global Affairs Canada, for making the exhibit possible.
