In a privilege speech yesterday, Rep. Manuel Cabochan III (Party-list, MAGDALO) said that the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) should strengthen its efforts in combating cases of hazing or maltreatment. Cabochan, a PMA graduate, said he agreed that reforms should be done to prevent unnecessary and tragic deaths from occurring again citing the recent case of PMA Cadet 4th Class Darwin Dormitorio who died from hazing-inflicted injuries. He pointed out that hazing is not a culture or tradition in the PMA and that hazing is illegal and not tolerated in the PMA.
