No substantial threats to the State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Rodrigo Duterte on July 22, 2019 have been perceived, as assured by House of Representatives Sergeant-at-Arms MGen. Romeo Prestoza in a press briefing on Thursday. Prestoza gave the assurance that issues such as the recent terrorist bombing in Mindanao are taken into consideration as the House prepares for the 2019 SONA. He said the House security has not seen any threats to the event. He added that the House has "a very good coordination" with the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA), Intelligence Service, Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP) and other intelligence units to investigate if the bombing poses a threat and if there is a possibility it will affect the House or President Duterte. House Acting Secretary-General Dante Roberto Maling, Chairperson of the Task Force SONA 2019, stated that it is business as usual in terms of SONA preparations as activities remain on track and have remained the same as in previous years. / Caption by Czarina Engracia / Photos by Gilbert Engay/ News and Documentation Section-Press and Public Affairs Bureau/ House of Representatives of the Philippines
