The House of Representatives on Tuesday became the first staging area for the seminar-workshop on ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) integration supported by the Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit or GIZ. About 60 Secretariat officers and staff of the House of Representatives, led by House Secretary General Dante Roberto Maling, attended the two-day seminar workshop entitled: “Seminar-Workshop on ASEAN Integration for the Secretariat of the House of Representatives, Congress of the Philippines” held at the Batasan Complex. The seminar-workshop aims to enable the House secretariat officials and staff gain knowledge and understanding of ASEAN integration. Among those who attended the seminar-workshop were House Deputy Secretaries-General Romulo Emmanuel Miral and Darren De Jesus, Executive Directors Rosario Amatong-Buendia, Corazon Alano, Divina Sawit-Medina and Edith Cardenas. Also present in the seminar-workshop were : AIPA Secretary General Isra Sunthornvut; AIPA Deputy Secretary General Pandu Mario Dewono; ASEAN Secretariat Head of Services and Investment Division, Market Integration Directorate, ASEAN Economic Community Department Tan Tai Hiong; ASEAN Secretariat Head and Assistant Director of Culture and Information Division, Sustainable Development Directorate ASEAN Socio-cultural Department Jonathan Tan; Principal Adviser of AIPA for ASEAN Integration Project Bernardo Agawin Jr.; DFA Office of ASEAN Affairs Office Executive Director Marian Jocelyn Tirol-Ignacio; and DFA Director for Summitries and ASEAN Coordinating Council Division Ivan Frank Olea. /Caption by Ma.
