2019 BUDGET BICAM REPORT SIGNED

Just before the session break, Members of the House of Representatives and the Senate on Friday signed and approved the bicameral conference committee report on House Bill 8169 or the General Appropriations Bill which provides for a P3.757 trillion national budget for 2019. The legislators agreed to adopt an obligation-based budgeting system for 2019. Rep. Rolando Andaya (1st District, Camarines Sur), Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriations and Head of the House Contingent, underscored that more than the approval of the proposed budget, the House intends to ensure its proper use and implementation. Senate Contingent Head Senator Loren Legarda gave the assurance that the Senate shall also oversee the swift, efficient, and effective delivery of basic services to the grassroots. The House Contingent was comprised of Deputy Speaker Arthur Yap, Senior Deputy Majority Leader Rodante Marcoleta, House Minority Leader Danilo Suarez, Reps. Yedda Marie Romualdez, Johnny Ty Pimentel, Xavier Jesus Romualdo, Maria Carmen Zamora, Vicente "Ching" Veloso, Anthony Bravo Ph.D., Jose Antonio Sy-Alvarado, Federico Sandoval II, Alfredo Benitez, Edcel Lagman, Florida Robes, Corazon Nuñez-Malanyaon, and Raul Del Mar. Meanwhile, the Senate panel had Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri, Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon, Senators Ralph Recto, Cynthia Villar, Sonny Angara, Nancy Binay, and Joseph Victor Ejercito.| Gilbert Manalo/ Gilbert Engay/ Molie Gonzales
