In commemoration of Cooperative Month, Former President and now House Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo graced as guest of honor the Gawad Galing Kooperatiba Awards 2018 in Malolos, Bulacan on Wednesday. The Speaker lauded the strength of the cooperatives industry in the province, noting that Bulacan boasts roughly 800 cooperatives and about 20 percent of BulaceƱos are members. According to Arroyo, it comes as no surprise that Rep. Jose Antonio Sy-Alvarado (1st District, Bulacan) has filed a measure to recognize Bulacan as the Cooperative Capital of the Philippines and that the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) has endorsed the bill. Also present at the event were Sangguniang Panlalawigan Board Member Allan Ray Baluyut, Bulacan Vice Governor Daniel Fernando, and CDA Chairman Orlando Ravanera. | Perfecto Camero / Czarina Engracia
